Pistol

These courses are focused in the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship.  They cover key manipulations such as Loading, Unloading, Reloads, Immediate and Remedial actions, Draw, Presentation, Sighting, Trigger manipulations, Recoil management, and Follow through.  The student will have a thorough understanding of key points of focus to allow them to improve speed and accuracy through identifying the most efficient and effective ways of manipulating their firearm.  Shooters will have a deeper understanding of the details that help or hinder your performance as well as be given tools to constantly refine themselves on their own.   We will cover all portions of employing your pistol and the full range of manipulations while discovering how to focus on the right things at the right time to improve overall performance.

Day 1 intro course rooted in the fundamentals.  Identifying the most effective ways to improve performance and self-diagnose for future improvements. This is combined with Carbine 1 for a 2-day course.

2 day pistol workshop

2-day skill builder course that goes deeper into the how and why aspects of shooting.  High level focus on performance enhancement techniques and quantifying the results is the foundation of this course.

Equipment requirements

  • Functioning semiautomatic pistol and OWB or IWB holster

  • 3 magazines (minimum) and 1 magazine pouch (minimum)

  • Eye and hearing protection

Courses usually begin around 09:00 and finish around 17:00. We do break for lunch so prepare accordingly.


Carbine

Maximize neural processing and biomechanical responses to enable the student to manipulate a carbine with optimal efficiency, accuracy and discretion.These carbine courses are designed to highlight the intricacies of employing a carbine in a combat environment.  Course disciplines will include accuracy, efficiency in mechanics, self-diagnosing, operating in reduced work spaces, limited cover / concealment, intuitive shooting positions and their affect on round trajectory, biomechanical interface with the weapons system, improving neural processing, target discrimination, proactive vs. reactive gun fighting and combat decision making.  The purpose of these courses is to identify the differences between square range carbine and combat gun fighting.  The students will be placed into less-than-ideal situations and be made to work with what is available to them to improve their survivability and gain the advantage.  By highlighting deficiencies and working from the “worst case scenarios” the students become more familiar with solving combat problems and further developing their own mental processes.

CARBINE 1

1 day intro course rooted in the fundamentals. Identifying the most effective ways to improve performance and self-diagnose for future improvements. this is combined with pistol 1 for a two-day course.

  • Magazines x 3 (minimum)

  • 1 Magazine pouch (minimum)

  • Eye and Ear protection mandatory

  • PPE recommended – Knee pads and gloves

  • Spare batteries for all electronics

  • Weapons lube and tools.
